Being active often seems the first step of a glow up. While weight loss or toning might be some people’s goals, maintaining general activity in your lifestyle can be the biggest way to start to see yourself literally glow. Great ways to incorporate more activity into your life is to do yoga or stretching daily, working in some cardio, as well as doing some strength training. A well rounded, and effective workout a few times a week will surely help yourself mentally as well as physically and is a great first step for your glow up.

Present yourself how you want to be presented. Are you dressing for yourself? Dong your makeup for yourself? Are you leaving the house for yourself and to do things that you want to do? Or are you doing these things for others? If you are doing them for others, Stop. Glowing up on the inside starts with letting your true and genuine self shine. Once you start doing things for yourself and looking how you want to look and being who you want to be, you will start to glow and it can be so magical. If you like to keep your nails manicured, do that. If you really want red hair, dye your hair red. If you want to dress a certain way, start dressing that way! If you feel like you need permission to be who you want to be, here it is!

Along with being active and drinking water, this one is a no-brainer. We all know how eating well can help us achieve our health and wellness goals, but actually doing it can be where things get difficult. Maybe start gradually, swapping one meal a day with healthier options, then maybe a few days a week, until the majority of what you are eating is what makes your body feel good. Healthy eating is a habit that will undoubtedly play a major role in your glow up, so learn to love discovering new healthy recipes.

I put this as the last element of what I think is included in a well-rounded glow-up. It can be really beneficial to spend time with your friends and family. So often do we isolate ourselves, which can lead us down rabbit holes of depression, anxiety, pressure, etc. Whatever you have going on in life is best shared with friends, even if they aren’t trying to glow up in the same ways you are. Sharing your experiences, ideas and having that downtime to feel support and reciprocate it is so important and is a HUGE element of glowing from the inside out.

It is important to fill your cup before filling others. To help others out truly, you must first help yourself (like how they tell you to put your oxygen mask on before the kid sitting next to you). You have a responsibility to take good care of yourself physically and mentally and you are sure to glow.
