Olivia Rodrigo’s Merch Is Arriving And Its Poor Quality Is Shocking Fans
Olivia Rodrigo released her debut album ‘Sour,’ this past May and it became an absolute hit. The Disney star transformed her career overnight, with an album that is predicted to be a showstopper at the 2021 Grammy’s. With the album, adjacent Olivia Rodrigo merch was released, but fans have recently been complaining about the surprising quality of it. And they aren’t surprised about it being high quality.
In a recent TikTok, @chloemahaley showed her TikTok audience a picture of what she ordered. The picture was from the Olivia Rodrigo website, and was of the Sour butterfly long sleeve top. The top was supposed to be a light lavender with cuffs on the sleeves. But, when it arrived, it was a dark purple with no cuffed sleeves. This is also not the only occurrence of a poor made product arriving at someone’s house. Several other TikTok creators who ordered the Olivia Rodrigo merch started posting their own TikToks about their experiences. Some show crop tops that came as long unflattering tank tops, poor screen printing, wrong items being sent, bucket hats that fit too small and a myriad of other issues.
Since then, Olivia’s team has reached out to fans who have bought merchandise to tell them that they will have replacement items sent to them shortly but there has not been a public statement from her team or from Rodrigo herself about the merch quality. This also isn’t something new. Celebrity merch is usually pretty pricey, with poor quality. There have been a ton of complaints from other fandoms, like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and others. Will this major outrage finally make this conundrum stop? We’ll just have to wait and find out. Hopefully everyone who ordered something gets a refund or a better version.
