It’s Wintertime AND it’s a new year. Do you know what that means? In case you don’t… It’s warm salad season! I love warm salads because they combine the comfort we crave during these winter months with the healthfulness of the abundance of veggies and fruits and whole ingredients included in these delicious warm salads. I’ve compiled a list of absolutely star-of-the-show warm salad recipes to make for your next meal, dinner party, or time you’re craving something a little comforting or hearty. So, scroll on down for some tastiness!
Brussels Sprout Salad With Cider Dijon Dressing
I have been obsessed with roasted brussels sprouts lately and as warm salad season is among us, I can’t wait to introduce this roasted brussels sprout obsession to my warm salad obsession, and this recipe is certainly a top contender for that occasion. Seriously though, this salad looks awesome, even down to the homemade cider dijon dressing.
Roasted Sweet Potato Salad
Sweet potatoes are SO hearty. I just love how you can honestly incorporate any roasted veggie into a warm salad recipe, but this salad let the sweet potato take over completely. Instead of having some kind of green carrying the dish’s “base” this warm salad let the mild, yet tasty, roasted sweet potato carry the other ingredients packed with flavor like parsley and onion.
Street Corn Salad
This warm salad variety does the same thing the sweet potato salad did and let the roasted corn take over. This dish is not only unique and fresh but also delicious because it packs all the best flavors into a bowl. Inspired by Mexican street corn, this dish is an extra-creamy warm salad thanks to mayonnaise and avocado.
Roasted Butternut Squash Salad
If you’re a lover of roasted veggies, and looking to nourish your body with some wholesome ingredients, then you have to give this roasted butternut squash salad a try. I think this warm salad is perfect for winter because it incorporates seasonal ingredients like butternut squash and cranberries. The feta cheese and vinaigrette dressing tie everything together with a *chef’s kiss.*
Warm Seafood Salad
In the mood for seafood? We’ve got you covered. Savory calamari and prawns plus fresh lemon, asparagus, and tomatoes, equals warm salad heaven. Seriously, try this combo, it’ll make you feel like the health goddess of the sea and your body will be on cloud nine because the ingredients are so, so good for you.
Harvest Salad
Speaking of good for you, we all know veggies are where it’s at when we’re trying to send our bodies some love. If you’re looking for a warm salad packed with veggies so that your body will thank you, but also one tasty enough that you’ll be able to mop up every last bite, try this harvest salad! The base is a bed of kale (massaged with a little bit of seasoned oil so it’s oh so yummy) and on top of that, we’ve got roasted butternut squash, apples, roasted brussels sprouts (I know, my knees are weak), pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, and yep, feta cheese. Can I get an Amen?
Kale and Quinoa Salad
So warm salads sound good but we’re not too sure we’ll be feeling all that full afterward? I hear you. Perhaps try out this Kale and Quinoa salad. The quinoa is a great, nutrient packed grain that will make your warm salad feel a lot more like a substantial meal. Also, it holds onto flavors great, which makes it awesome for this salad. The quinoa and kale base are accompanied by carrots, peppers, avocados, nuts, etc.
