Makeup trend alert: Sunburn Blush! There’s a new makeup trend just in time for summer and it is the sunburn blush. I know it sounds extreme or even possibly painful, but it’s actually really cute. The sunburn blush recreates the natural rosy nose and cheeks you get from the sunshine, leaving you with a natural-looking but still high fashion makeup look. Want to learn more about it? Keep reading!
Sunburn Blush
To cash in on the adorable sunburn blush look, apply blush on the high points of your face. Much like the sun-kissed highlight trend, this look is all about trying to recreate the natural work of the sun. Particularly with this look, we are still protecting our skin from the sun (so we’re not actually getting burnt) while keeping the soft glow it gives us!
Sweep your favorite cream, stick or powder blush onto your cheekbones, across the bridge of your nose, temples, a bit on your forehead and voila, Sunburn Blush! Don’t get too heavy-handed though. You don’t want to look like you really got sunburned, just a touch of sun as if you were out at the lake or beach all day.
You can use cream, powder, stick or gel blush to create this look. Try layering a cream or stick underneath with a powder blush on top for staying power. The powder product on top of the gel or cream product will act as a setting powder, creating a double coverage look that will stay all day.
Best Sunburn Blush Products
As mentioned, you can achieve the sunburn blush look with several different types of products like creams, gels, sticks or even powders. Sometimes, even adding on several layers of different kinds can be the best. Even though you can use pretty much any blush product out there to achieve a similar look, there are some that we’d specifically recommend over others! Here are some of the best products to achieve this summer style!
You can even use lipstick to get the look by picking out any red or rose tone! Apply it like you would apply a stick blush and dab it directly onto your cheeks and the bridge of your nose or onto your fingertips then tap it on!
