Last Minute Wedding Checklist – The Groomsmen And Bridesmaid Task List Of Your Dreams

I’ve been watching wedding TV shows ever since I was a little girl. I’ve also been curating Wedding Pinterest boards since I had social media. Needless to say, I’ve been obsessed with weddings my whole life. So when it came to planning my own wedding, it was easier than I ever dreamed it would be. I had everything I needed – I just had to create a few hundred checklists. While I could write a million of these lists out for you, there was one I was especially glad I made. When it comes to last minute details, there are a few things you don’t want to forget. This is a last minute wedding checklist for you, with all kinds of tasks that you can assign to your bridesmaids and groomsmen.
First of all, make sure you purchase a hand steamer (or two) for your big day. Both the guys and the girls should have one so they can steam their dresses and suits (and possibly even the getting-ready robes, if they need to be!) I assigned several people to be on top of these tasks so everything would be wrinkle-free.
Obviously, you are going to have an amazing photographer to capture your big day, but you might want some other things captured. Will your photographer be there while you are getting ready? Will they be at the rehearsal or rehearsal dinner? Do you have a videographer to capture your first dance? If you don’t, assign someone in your wedding party to capture all of these moments for you!
Hopefully, your caterer comes with bussing, so you shouldn’t have to take out any trash… but double-check this to be sure. Even so, there will still be a lot of clean up to do. Have your entire wedding party be in charge of cleaning up your venue, like packing up all of your stuff and taking it away. But also don’t forget to clean up the getting ready suite if there is one.
There are so many things that have to get done, and they all need to be done at a certain time. Make sure you’ve assigned a bridesmaid and a groomsman to be in charge of the time! No need to rush but you definitely want to make sure you’re not missing anything.
This one might sound kind of stupid, but make sure everyone is staying hydrated throughout the day. Especially if your wedding party is planning on drinking at your reception, make sure everyone is getting enough water. I also had two people assigned to make sure that my husband and I were drinking enough water throughout the day. Our hilarious groomsman Joe even got him a sippy cup!
Flat Lay Items
If you’re wanting your photographer to take some detail shots, make sure you have all of your flat lay items all together. Put them in a box or a bag and make sure you know where they are before your photographer arrives. Then, make sure someone is assigned to give them to your photographer.
If the guys are getting ready away from the venue, make sure you have someone in charge of checking everyone’s ties before they arrive. The last thing you want is to have a groomsmen with no tie making all of the pictures look weird.
The same goes for flowers, which include bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages. Who needs what and where do they need to be? And if your florals are real, do they need to be placed in water? Do they need to be dried off? Who is in charge of these things?
You NEED to make sure that everyone eats at the wedding day. You don’t want anyone (including yourself) passing out during the day. Even if you’re nervous, you have to have some lunch! My girls and I chowed down on some Chic-fil-a while we got ready. But make sure you have someone in charge of ordering the food. My incredible bridesmaid Jemma ordered delivery, and then it charged her card without going through! So she hopped in her car and went to get the food. She was a literal lifesaver.
You have to keep fresh all day so you look amazing in photos. Because of this, see if someone in your wedding party has a pocket in which they can store your lip gloss. I’ve even seen some people ask the photographer if they can hold it in between shots.
Getting Ready Playlist
You can’t get ready for your big day without any music. Whether you assign someone to make the playlist or you’ve already made, at least have someone be in charge of putting it on. You’ll have a million other things to think about, let your girls be the one to turn the tunes on and off.
Nobody wants a dead phone, make sure you have a phone charger with you in the bridal suite and make sure there is someone assigned to keep your phone and everyone else’s charged.
Card Box Collector
Everything happens in a blur, especially at the end of the night when everyone is trying to clean up as fast as possible. Because of this, you’ll want to make sure that the card box (and any gifts) get to the right people. Have someone on your list ensure that it gets to your parents or someone else who can take them home for you.
At the end of the night, you won’t be there to make sure everyone gets back home (or to their hotel) safely. Make sure you know who will be the designated driver and that there will be someone in charge of making sure everyone gets home safely.
