It’s only the middle of December, but the New Year is steadily on its way. It’s right around the corner, and this is the perfect time to start deciding what your resolutions for the New Year are. By giving yourself a head start, you can reflect on the year that has passed and decide what you want to do differently for the next one. You can sort through what you achieved this year, what you’ve yet to complete and decide what you want to focus on in the New Year. Keeping track of a list of resolutions can be a little challenging as it’s not something you can visually see. If you’re more of a visual person, then a list may not be what you need. This is where vision boards come in, because they might be just the tool you’re looking for.

Vision boards have been a classic way to set goals and to create a visual representation of your dreams and aspirations. A vision board can be completed in many ways, but the original way was using a giant board and creating a photo collage of your goals. Binders and scrapbooks are also ways that people have made vision boards for the year as this is an opportunity to get crafty and personalized for your needs. These are all physical vision boards, but now with technology at our fingertips, we can use more digital means to create a vision board.

One of the ways I’ve seen and have used myself to create a digital vision board is through Pinterest. What makes Pinterest a great choice for making your vision board is just how organized the app is and how easy it is to find all the photos you want. So if you want to create the perfect Pinterest vision board aesthetic, here are a few steps that can lead you in the right direction.

Create a list

Whether you write this list mentally or physically, make sure it encapsulates your goals and dreams for the upcoming year. It may seem a little early for resolutions but now is the perfect time. It gives you a head start to clear your mind, to create goals that reflect what you want to do, and to become excited for the future. By creating this list you can have a clear idea of what it is you want to achieve in the New Year, what changes you want to make, or anything fun you just want to try. If you want to set up new fitness goals, to travel more or to advance in your career, these are all things you should write down to get a good idea of what you want to achieve. Your list can include anything as long as it describes what it is you desire.

Create your board

Now that you have an idea of what your goals for the New Year are, it’s time to create your board. All you need to do is go to Pinterest, create a board, and get to pinning. Searching the photos that suit your aesthetic and that you feel portray the vibe surrounding your goal. If I were setting any academic goals, I would include photos of beautiful notes, books, and put-together journals. If you feel like one board doesn’t properly convey your goals for the year, you can even create one for each goal. This way you can enhance your organization and have your goals separated without any confusion.

Extra steps

If you really enjoyed the process of creating your Pinterest vision board aesthetic, there are some extra steps you can take to create an even more cohesive one. If you want a single photo that will hold all the pins on your board, there are ways you can make one. Apps like Canva have templates you can use to create a college for your 2024 vision board, and you can save the photos from your Pinterest board to do so. After creating your college, you can save your collage and even use it as a background image on laptops, phones, or any other pieces of tech you use.

Vision boards are all in good fun, so don’t feel too stressed about completing every single thing you have in them. Treat it as a guideline, not a checklist, and have fun with it. This process is meant to be inspiring and satisfying, so don’t let it drain you. Let’s keep it light and just have a good time.
