Q: Tell us your story! Where did the Francesca Stugot character come from? What made you want to start this series on TikTok?
A: Francesca Stugot actually came about completely by accident! My college friends and I were bored on a Sunday night and we decided to prank call some old Tinder matches/guys we knew and convince them that they’ve met me before! I decided to use a fake name as Francesca and my friend added the Stugot and Francesca Stugot was born!
Q: Were you surprised about the internet’s reaction to Franny and these videos? Did you think this would become an active part of your life when you posted that first video?
A: I was very surprised! My friend uploaded it just as a joke and I definitely did not think it would go anywhere but people really seemed to enjoy it so I’ve kept doing it! It’s been really great to build a connection with my followers though and I’m super grateful that this happened even though it was completely accidental!
Q: What do you think has been the funniest or weirdest phone call so far?
A: There have been some really weird ones so it’s hard to pick! I always like when I call a guy who has a contagious laugh and personality though! It makes the calls seem more natural I think!
Q: Did you create Franny’s entire story all at once or did bits and pieces of her personality and life come to you as improv during calls?
A: It definitely didn’t happen all at once! Every call is different and even though I’ve added main points that have stayed as consistent lines in the bit, there’s always something new being added to each call!
You have a submission box where people can submit people for you to call – what type of person do you think fits these types of calls the best? Who would you recommend they submit?
A: I’ve called guys, peoples moms, and even a college professor, so I’m really open to all submissions! I definitely (and I think my followers) prefer people who are good at carrying a conversation but I can make things kind of work, most of the time as long as they answer!
Q: Your real voice is so different than Franny’s! Has anyone recognized you in public yet?
A: Yes actually! I’ve met a decent amount of people which is crazy to me but I love it! Everyone I’ve met has been so nice and supportive!
Q: Final one – which is Francesca’s favorite meal prep from Franny’s Meals On Wheels?
Ooo that’s a tough one! There are so many great meals on the menu! I’d have to say the steak tips though! They’re our best seller and always a hit!
