Alex Cooper, the host of the immensely popular podcast Call Her Daddy, recently unveiled snapshots from her dream wedding, a milestone she once questioned whether she desired.
Despite her initial uncertainties about marriage, Cooper’s heart was won over by producer Matt Kaplan during a serendipitous Zoom encounter in 2020, leading to her joyful acceptance of his proposal. Despite never envisioning herself as a bride during her formative years, Alex Cooper meticulously orchestrated a truly enchanting wedding celebration.
The pair tied the knot in Riviera Maya, Mexico, with a three-day celebration. The couple wrote their own vows and the ceremony was officiated by Cooper’s brother Grant. The wedding was very private but still romantic with intimate guests in attendance. The couple shared that the small number of guests was important to the couple since they wanted to prioritize the people they love most and helped them become the people they are today.
What stood out the most at this wedding was the dresses Cooper chose. Originally when working with her stylist Mimi Cuttrell, nothing felt right after trying multiple designer dresses. In due course, she turned to Pinterest for inspiration, dedicating hours to perusing countless photos. Then, in a stroke of luck, she stumbled upon a gown by Danielle Frankel that resonated with her vision. The dress was a blend of vintage and contemporary features making the dress timeless and elegant.
Mimi initiated contact with Danielle Frankel, sparking the commencement of the custom gown creation process. Drawing inspiration from the designer’s original dress, they embarked on refining certain elements, such as transitioning the V-neckline to a straight line and modifying the drop waist. During an appointment with Danielle, numerous iterations were explored regarding the size and style of the train and skirt, yet they consistently gravitated towards the simplest, most minimalist rendition, devoid of a train. During the final fitting, Alex experimented with various veils, ultimately finding that the short blusher veil resonated most with her.
For Thursday evening, Alex opted for another stunning creation by Danielle Frankel adorned with pearls, perfectly complementing the venue’s speakeasy ambiance. The dress exudes timeless elegance, effortlessly capturing the desired aesthetic for the occasion. Then, on Friday night, the bride made a statement in a vintage Donna Karan gown. The final standout ensemble selected for the after-party was a vintage Alexander McQueen dress.
With the main components of her wedding wardrobe complete, Alex still sought the perfect outfit for the after-after-party. In one of their last fittings, they discovered it: a vintage Versace corset. It was simply breathtaking and exuded an undeniable allure, yet remained harmonious with the pearl off-white palette of the other looks. They finalized all the main looks within about two months, and I distinctly recall feeling that there wasn’t a single ensemble I favored over the others – and that was precisely the objective.
