Tell us your story! Where did you begin and how did you reach the caliber you’re currently at?
I’m Kaleigh Talty, I’m 19 years old, and I’m a singer songwriter. I started recording music with a producer at 18 because of my aunt and uncle who had a connection. They are my biggest supporters and the only reason I’ve been putting out music for the last year. I’ve been writing songs since I was about 10 years old, but finally got the courage to start sharing my recent songs with people online in 2023. Slowly I’ve been growing my TikTok from there and I’m currently at 38.8k. It’s been a crazy journey so far and even though not many people don’t know who I am, I will continue to make music from the heart and hopefully find people who connect with it.
What makes you love what you do? How long have you been making music? Would you call it your passion?
It’s such a huge stress relief for me, I feel like my true self when I’m writing songs. I pour my thoughts and real life experiences into my songs. It’s my biggest passion and dream to do this hopefully for the rest of my life. I’ve had music in my life since the day I could walk. I was in band, choir, theater, guitar lesson, voice lessons, etc from an early age. I live and breathe music everyday.
What are some accomplishments or milestones you’ve reached lately?
I recently hit 10k streams on the first song I ever put out which was super cool to see and I’ve made connections with a couple small indie artists I really look up to.
Tell us all about your latest project!
I just put out a song called “what are you waiting for?” It’s a love song about waiting for the other person to make the first move. The song was kind of me calling out my crush, so hopefully he got the message from that. Now I’m working on a few singles that will come out soon and my first EP.
Do you have any advice for someone who might admire you? What do you think is the key to success?
To anyone who wants to get into music, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Not everyday is going to be perfect, you might not always get the views you want or reach the right audience, but if you are persistent and never give up you will make it. I’m still being persistent and working as hard as I possibly can everyday on my music and content, it’s a climb, but I know it will be worth it and work out in the end.
What do you want our readers to know about you?
I’m just your typical 19 year old girl. I love movies (I’m an avid letter box user), coffee, making a million Pinterest boards, going to concerts (I try to go to at least 3-4 a year if I can), and fashion. I really hope my audience grows as I grow with my music, I’m just so grateful for everything that has happened already.
