“To all of the boys and girls that I have loved, I still don’t know what I want or who I want,” Kitty implies while going through an entire season to understand who she has fallen for. If you have been living under a rock or watching other shows on Netflix, XO Kitty has returned for its second season! Season one is a little rocky, slip and slide; I can get behind that. No worries, no problem! But. I cannot excuse a cliffhanger that left us at intermission for almost two years! Now, Netflix and the producers and writers in that room are diabolical. But alas, here we are, and this new season starts off at our ending point. But the question remains: Who should Kitty end up with?
Who Should Kitty End Up With? Small Little Recap Before We Dabble
Let’s get a quick rundown on the first season of XO Kitty! Kitty goes to Seoul to attend K.I.S.S (Korean Independent School of Seoul) to discover more about her mother’s family and lifestyle before she passes away. Also, she goes to K.I.S.S to finally meet her pen pal/boyfriend Dae. (You know, the romantic stuff that draws the audience in, that kind of thing). Along the way, she meets Q, an American star track and field athlete; Minho, a rich, snobby high schooler who cares for his friends and reputation (a sweetheart underneath everything); and Yuri, another rich girl who is struggling to find her place in her family and sexuality.
You would think that Kitty is exploring her relationship with Dae, going on cute dates, and all is right with the world. Cue the rose petals and spotlight! But HA! Oh no, the drama is sizzling and piping hot when Kitty realizes that she has feelings for Yuri and brief cute moments with Minho that got her thinking: oh shi—
At the end of the first season, our heartthrob Minho confesses his feelings to Kitty in an airplane! Mind you, he stepped down from first class to coach to talk to her (he made sure that detail was not left out). Unfortunately, Kitty rejected him after her lips curled into a slight grin. I know that’s right! Kitty, if you don’t want him, I want him, respectfully. But, GASP!? She still has feelings for Yuri! What can a girl do?! Who should Kitty end up with? Welp, Season 2 is already filled with drama so let’s just dabble into it!
Kitty, You in Danger Girl!
Okay, I just have one thing to say! The way that Kitty came back to K.I.S.S, expected to have a single dorm, and now has to room with Yuri and her new girlfriend, Julianna, is WILD for the first episode! Honestly, I would be shaking in my boots; what a great opener! Also, new character unlocked! We have Stella, a charming, intelligent young woman who will play a vital part in the season. (Because you know why introduce someone if they don’t have a role in the plot. I’ve watched television for a very long time friends). But the gag is that Dae is not over Kitty, and we all know that Minho is not over Kitty. I know Kitty is that girl, but my gosh, Kitty, you are in danger for real!
Minho, Yes or No?
But, the gag and kicker is, the chemistry is absolutely electrifying between Minho and Kitty. I mean, watch this clip below because oh my gosh!
AND THE SWITCH FROM HER FIRST NAME TO HER LAST NAME! I’m sorry, but Minho won in my playbook of a great character for an enemies-to-lovers trope! Throughout Season 2, we see more of Minho’s nurturing persona towards Kitty as she battles to discover secrets about her mother’s past and her complicated relationship with Yuri. If anything, Minho finally shows his true colors and peels away this rich, snobby persona from Season 1. In episode 1 of the new season, we have the ICONIC scene of “But, you did smile” to kick off the steaming drama between them. (If I could hang that clip onto my wall, I would immediately). Onwards, throughout the season, we get iconic parallels from the Netflix original movie, “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”! In episode 4, we get the iconic hot tub scene with Kitty and Minho having a heartfelt conversation at his father’s cabin. Minho stepped into that hot tub with his designer clothes on; that is commitment! Who would’ve thought Peter and Lara Jean would have the same situation in their movie?
COINCIDENCE, I THINK NOT! If anything, it shows that the stars are aligned in their favor. However, Minho starts to have a relationship with Stella because she stands up to his father (like, alright girl, pipe down for real). Stella even interrupted their cute interaction with a hint of jealousy. But not to worry, the Minho and Kitty ship does not stop sailing there!
It’s Giving A Yes For Minho!
Another example of Minho and Kitty’s relationship is when Minho comforts Kitty after she confronts a family member about her mother’s past. They were at a matchmaking shop where Kitty met her great aunt, but she was kicked out almost immediately. They had their Korean drama moment with Minho by her side in the rain! Honestly, a kiss scene here would be giving it to us easy. I wanted more and more I got!
In episode 6, there is a vast iceberg blocking the Minho and Kitty ship! Kitty discovers that Stella has a fake identity andis a past contestant from Minho’s father’s talent competition. She plots a revenge plan to embarrass him in front of the world by leaking damaging information. Once Kitty shows Minho the video of Stella’s participation in the competition, he instantly rejects the idea of him being played. He even confessed that he tried to move on from Kitty by being with Stella (the rebound phase is crazy work). Because he doesn’t believe in Kitty’s correct accusation, he decides to cut ties with Kitty for a while (meaning at least a week).
My heart broke for Kitty! In that situation, I wouldn’t know how to respond because it is just awkward to protect someone you claim you don’t like, but in reality, you do like them! Oh my gosh, even my brain can’t understand how she would respond differently!
Yes, The Minho + Kitty Ship Is Going!
In episode 7, Kitty and Minho dance with one another at the dance. She apologizes for her “false” accusation of Stella, but she thanks him for his help with her great aunt. And, the way he looks into her eyes, like he is not over Kitty at all! But after their dance was over, Minho reunited with Stella for a dance but noticed that she has a new look. Then, Stella revealed everything to Minho and the look of guilt across his face made me so sad! He even threatened Stella that if she hurt Kitty, it would be wraps on this relationship. But no no no, to put the icing on the cake, Kitty has fallen for Minho officially after reflecting on their dance and weeks together! Yay!
In the last episode, Stella didn’t get her way with the MoonLeaks scandal, but she tried to confess to Minho that her feelings were almost real for Minho. The lies, deception, and deceit! We all knew who had Minho’s heart in the end! After the incident and the semester ends, Minho tells Kitty that he is heading to Los Angeles. Before confessing her feelings to him, she asked, “Can I join you?” KITTY CONVEY, OKAY! But, no, not a cliffhanger again! I wanted a kiss scene so badly. I was at the edge of my couch staring at my TV, bulging my eyes.
In all honesty, I absolutely love the Minho and Kitty ship because I genuinely believe that it is really taking off for real this time! I am so excited to see what they have in store! Okay, watch this scene from the dance, one of my favorite scenes from the whole season!
Who Should Kitty End Up With: Team Yuri? Of Course!
I am all for the Yuri and Kitty ship as well! Their ship was the last cliffhanger because Kitty discovered how hot Yuri was, and their connection was genuine! Throughout the season, Kitty battles her feelings for Yuri because she is doing with her girlfriend, Julianna. One of the major plot points for Yuri and Kitty is that Kitty pulled a Lara Jean moment by writing a “letter” to Yuri about her feelings! She brought the letter to K.I.S.S and kept it hidden from Stella, Julianna, and Yuri. (I think we all know how this letter business is about to go down!)
In episode 1, Kitty tells Yuri that she is bisexual, and Yuri instantly supports Kitty and her romantic pursuits. However, Yuri revealed that she did not receive a positive response when she came out to her parents. In this moment, Yuri and Kitty have a touching moment that solidifies their bond from Season 1. Why can’t parents love their children? It broke my heart watching that scene. In episode 2, Juliana finds out that Kitty has feelings for Yuri and, in turn, uses one of Kitty’s advice as her own to comfort Yuri because she has not spoken to her mother since she came out. Now, was Juliana just for her decision? Not really. It was definitely an act of jealousy, but the guilt was painted on her face when Yuri appreciated the advice. In that regard, I will let this little moment slide.
Yes, Yuri Is A Yes For Sure!
But GASP!? While talking to Q, Kitty accidentally reveals Yuri and Juliana’s relationship and the principal overhears the conversation! Now, the principal wants Yuri or Juliana to move out, but the tension is extremely high! In episode 3, Yuri decides to move out and live with her mother but Juliana is still upset at Kitty for exposing their relationship. In the same instance, Juliana told Yuri that Kitty’s advice was used to help Yuri’s situation. And, my goodness, Yuri was a bit confused but forgave Juliana. Enough about Juliana for a minute. At this point, who should Kitty end up with?

LET’S GO KISS SCENE! The Yuri and Kitty ship has set sailed! However, in episode 4, Kitty’s letter reveals Stella to everyone in the cabin, and that causes Juliana and Yuri to break up! The tensions are severely high, and Kitty is distraught by the events unfolding. Honestly, after the letter and breakup, Yuri was avoiding Kitty for a while. But, for those who ship these two, it is very clear that Yuri still has feelings for Juliana because she was trying to amend things. After episode 5, there were less romantic scenes of Kitty and Yuri, but their friendship is still strong!
I don’t know, but this season was very spicy for Miss. Kitty Covey! Even though she went off with Minho for a summer trip, what if her feelings for Yuri are still there? What is the tea behind that?
