Q: Tell us your story! Where did you begin and how did you reach the caliber you’re currently at?

A: For as long as I can remember, my dream was to be a pop star. I could dig up some pretty hilarious home video footage of me dancing in my pajamas like I was on stage at the Grammys. Singing has always been a huge part of my life, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that I realized my passion for writing and creating music. For a while, I thought I wanted to work at a record label, and I did for a summer as an A&R intern! That was also the summer I started taking songwriting really seriously, so it all clicked for me. From that point on, I knew I had to keep writing, developing my sound, building my network, and sharing my music with the world.
Q: What makes you love what you do? How long have you been making music? Would you call it your passion?

A: Selfishly, I love the way that writing and creating music makes me feel. It can be cathartic, it can be fun, it can hurt, it can be healing. It’s also so special to see people resonate with the music I put out. Knowing that something I’ve written makes someone feel seen in some way is my favorite thing. I’ve gotten a lot of messages about how ‘ghosted my therapist’ really hit home for people. I love being able to share music that feels so personal to me but also so relatable to others.
Q: What are some accomplishments or milestones you’ve reached lately?

A: I was mentioned in Rolling Stone India which was… wild. ‘Ghosted my therapist’ hit 50k streams on Spotify and hasn’t even been out for two weeks yet!!! It’s crazy to see how much listeners are identifying with the lyrics. Especially on TikTok, I feel like it’s created this little support group for all the twenty-somethings who stumble upon it.
Q: Tell us about ‘ghosted my therapist’!!

A: ‘ghosted my therapist’ started out as a joke. I was in a session with two of my best friends, and I was telling them how I was having writer’s block. I’ve joked to them about how I ghosted my therapist, and we decided to go with that as a concept and title and just have fun with it. We started channeling things I wanted to complain about relating to growing up and being “an adult,” and it turned into this really funny and wonderfully stupid song that I love a lot.
Q: Do you have any advice for someone who is starting out in the music industry?

A: Reach out to lots of people to make new friends and grow your network – I’ve learned so much from just talking to people in different areas of the industry. Trust your gut! Not everyone is going to be obsessed with what you’re making or doing. As long as you believe in it and have a love for what you do, you will find your audience.
