Meet The Voice Behind the “Do You, Sis” Podcast: Ashtin Seaton

This is an interview done with Ashtin Seaton, read her story below! If you, or anyone you know, would like to be highlighted in The Zillennial Zine, shoot us an email at or DM us on Instagram!

Q: Tell us your story! Who is behind the “Do You, Sis” podcast?

A: My name is Ashtin Seaton, I am 24 years old and am the host of the “Do You, Sis” podcast. In January of 2020 right before COVID hit I took a random trip to Goodwill and found myself in the t-shirt section of the store browsing all old and somewhat “vintage” t-shirts. This was right when bleached t-shirts started to become a huge trend. I decided to get creative and took 15-20 different college and vintage t-shirts home and decided to bleach them. Then once COVID hit hard and the world shut down I decided to make an Instagram for these t-shirts. That’s when my business “VINTAGEISH” started. I began selling these t-shirts on Instagram then ventured onto the Etsy platform. I sold out of all 15-20 uniquely made t-shirts and at that point, I then knew I was onto something. Therefore, I continued to make trips to thrift stores (bought mainly college-related apparel), remade it into something new (bleached, cropped, etc), and continued selling on Etsy.

So as the VINTAGEISH remade apparel business continued to grow I told myself that I felt like there was something missing. Something more that I could offer to others. That something missing ended up being a women’s empowerment podcast. The whole idea of starting a podcast was overwhelming at first but after months of research and ideas, I finally decided to do just do it.

Q: How did this podcast come about? What makes it unique?

A: The Do You, Sis podcast officially went live in April of 2021. After a lot of indecisiveness, I knew that it was something that I wanted to do but I had to first overcome the fear of what others might think and say about me to make it happen. The Do You, Sis Podcast is a women’s empowerment podcast featuring all things women in business, entrepreneurship, fitness & health, beauty, lifestyle, and much more. This podcast has allowed me to overcome so much personally. I share a lot of my life’s stories and various obstacles I have overcome thus far in hopes to encourage other females to do the same.

Q: What is the message behind “Do You, Sis” and why is it important for you to share?

A: My Motto: “Do You, Sis because no one else’s opinion matters.” My message to all who listen to the Do You, Sis Podcast is just that. That regardless of what people think, say, feel, or do you are obligated to do what you want to do. You have the right to be the best version of yourself. To push yourself to reach your wildest dreams and goals. To not allow the fear of what others think to tie you down from trying something new. The podcast has shown me that there are so many women like me who are afraid to try new things or get really honest with themselves about what it is they want to do with their lives. So I use my Podcast as a resource/outlet for others to understand that they too can make a life change and start/do whatever it is they are wanting to do!

Q: What do you want our readers to know about you?

A: #doyousis #doitanyways – These are a few hashtags I use when I do things that make me uncomfortable. Things that are pushing me to become the best version of myself. Even though I may not always want to do them I #doitanyways. Because making yourself uncomfortable and trying new things leads to growth and growth leads good things to great things. And I am always reminding young females to just #doyousis because no one else’s opinion matters. I am also currently doing a fitness and lifestyle giveaway valuing over $500.00.
