Love Island Is All About The Fashion – Here’s What I Would Wear In The Villa
With summer approaching, it’s nearly time to binge my guiltiest of pleasures: Love Island. This reality TV show known for locking singles up in a luxury villa isn’t necessarily the most sophisticated form of entertainment, but I love it, and it’s a great way to keep track of the biggest trends in swimsuits and club wear– the fashion is always up-to-date. So, if I were a contestant on Love Island, I’d naturally want to make a splash with some statement pieces and killer outfits. I mean, good style is pretty attractive, right? Well, that’d be my tactic of attraction on the show, and I’m convinced it’d work with these items below. Here’s what I’d wear if I were on Love Island.
90% of what is worn on Love Island are swimsuits. If you have nothing else to do but lay out by the pool every day, you’d probably just chill out in swimsuits too. However, impressions are everything on Love Island, so I’d make sure my swimsuits all stand out and are fun fashions.
This swimsuit is SO cute! Just because it’s a one piece, doesn’t mean it isn’t sexy. This swimsuit’s cutout leaves little to the imagination but still keeps you covered where it’s important. The little tie-around-the-waist detail is adorable and is great for bringing your waist in. Not to mention, the metallic sheen of the suit is pretty cool!
Speaking of eye-catching, there’s no hiding in this swimsuit! Even though it comes in different colors, I think the hot pink of this strappy suit is so cute and bold enough to turn some heads in the villa for sure. I also think it’s a great option for people with smaller chests still wanting to show off the goods.
I couldn’t enter the Love Island villa without a purple swimsuit– it’s my favorite color, duh. But this purple glitter bikini is a clear choice for something sexy, eye-catching, and cute! I just love that glittery swimsuits are starting to get their moment this summer, because it’s been a long time coming and I’m SO here for it.
This swimsuit is so sweet and feminine while also being sexy and flirty. The lace details and rhinestones bring attention to this unique swimsuit, but it’s also a great pick for pairing with shorts. Also, I’m pretty sure islanders need a swimsuit in nearly every color when going on the show, so it wouldn’t hurt to have a super cute white one!
Now, when the sun sets on the Love Island villa, the contestants make it a routine to get all done up to celebrate the evening as if it were a party (and sometimes, they do get parties!) But the nighttime in Love Island is for fancy dresses and breaking out the makeup skills. Here are some dresses I think I’d bring if I were on the show.
I am OBSESSED with this dress! Not only is it sleek and formal, the feathers bring in a kick of fun or fancy that can be dressed up or down! I think it’s a gerat, plain black dress, which is always a great staple, but the feathers take it up a notch and adds a bit more of a fashionable flare to the outfit!
We haven’t seen too many corset looks on Love Island yet, which is surprising to me because it’s been such a big and sexy trend in fashion these past few years. If I were to go on the show this summer, I’d definitely pack this floral corset dress. The pattern is feminine and pretty, but the shape of the dress is so interesting and sexy that it’s a head-turner for sure. I feel like this is one of those dresses that people would either love or hate, but I love it!
This dress is BOLD, but I wouldn’t have it any other way if I were a contestant on Love Island. This faux-leather mini dress is form-fitting and ultra sexy. It was as if this dress were made for a dating reality TV show. I think it’d be a great fit with a darker makeup look, or just if you’re feeling a little angsty or badass. Either mood, this dress was made for turning heads.
Ah, the classic old-hollywood satin slip dress. It’s gorgeous, it’s comfortable, it’s sexy. What’s not to love? I think this dress with a red lip and some wavy hair would make it fit for the red carpet, but also be a gorgeous night time look on Love Island.
On Love Island, contestants do get to leave the cooped up villa a few times throughout the season… if they get asked on a date from another contestant. So, in preparation for being the villa’s hot commodity, I also have some date sundresses that I think would be so cute to wear if I were on the show.
Imagine the summer breeze making this dress flow! It is gorgeous, soft, femininie, and flirty– all great qualities for a date dress! Hopefully it wouldn’t be too hot, but it sure looks like a fun dress to traipse through countrysides and spin around with a partner in, so I think it’s a great pick for Love Island.
I am quite literally obsessed with this maxi dress. I predict that it will be the dress of the summer and I’m SO here for it. The fun pink and orange colors are bright and great for the daytime, but the bodycon shape and cut-outs in the dress make it super sexy. Overall, this is a super gorgeous and flattering dress and I think it’ll make a splash anywhere, but it seems like an awesome date dress for Love Island.
This knit dress may be a bit more warm, but it’s also such a fashionable pick for a Love Island date. I love that this mini dress is form-fitting and sexy, but also very 60’s inspired with the high neck and wavy design. I also think these colors look great outdoors, and most Love Island dates take place out in nature, so it’s perfect.
