Reality TV has really upped its game over the years, and it seems like every day there’s a new show available to stream. One show has remained a frontrunner for over 20 years, blossomed into a very successful franchise, and continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Sound familiar? Many of us Zillennials grew up watching this with our parents or older siblings, and now we gather weekly to watch with our friends! From the history of the franchise to the upcoming season set to air this June, to the best Bachelorette premiere party ideas, we’re here to cover all things Bachelor Nation!
Bachelor Nation Is Still Going Strong
The first season of The Bachelor aired in 2002, and the first season of The Bachelorette followed shortly after in 2003. These shows capture the ultimate quest for love as contestants vie for the heart of the featured Bachelor or Bachelorette. The audience closely follows each date, rose ceremony, and of course- conflict, as contestants are eliminated up until the finale which typically includes a proposal.
Aside from aiding individuals in finding their soulmates, the show has become a staple in pop culture. Giving us reasons to gather and have fun on Mondays (when the show typically airs) along with common ground for coworkers, fellow watchers, and even strangers to bond over the inevitable drama. It’s fun to watch a show and feel like you’re a part of something bigger, as the rest of the world watches and drinks a glass of wine along with you!
Get Ready For a Bachelorette Filled Summer
If you’re an avid watcher of The Bachelorette, you know that typically the shows alternate. The Bachelor just ended a few weeks ago, which means a new season of The Bachelorette is on the horizon, and typically the leading lady was a former contestant that made a lasting impression. Sources recently confirmed that the new bachelorette for the upcoming 20th season will be 27-year-old Charity Lawson. In routine fashion, she was a heartbroken contestant on the most recent season of The Bachelor and is still searching for “the one”.
Hailing from Georgia, Charity is a child and family therapist who is motivated by her parent’s 47-year-long marriage. Having a successful, long-lasting relationship modeled to her throughout her entire life, it’s no wonder why Charity wants to find her true soulmate. As one of the final three contestants in Season 27 of The Bachelor, fans had a lot of time to connect with Charity and felt for her when she was sent home after the Bachelor met her family and friends. Don’t miss your chance to cheer on Charity and follow her journey on the new season of the Bachelorette, premiering June 26th at 9 p.m. ET.
Bachelorette Premiere Party Ideas
Whether you want to go all out and plan a lavish party or you’re looking for a more low-key night in, there are four must-haves when planning The Bachelorette premiere party: wine, food, games, and roses. This reality series is famous for inspiring friends to gather and have a few glasses of their favorite wine, so make sure your party is stocked with a variety of reds, whites, and pinks.
For food, we recommend an emphasis on dessert- preferably something decadent. If you have the time, try making some chocolate-covered strawberries. Opt for some pre-made cheesecake or pints of ice cream if you’re in a pinch. Another idea we love is meeting up with your friends a little earlier to have enough time to cook dinner together before the show starts!
Not everyone is a huge fan of games, but doing a Bachelorette-themed bracket is a must! During the premiere, you can bet who makes it to the final rose, and up the ante with a prize for the winner at the end of the season. You can find personalized brackets for each season like this one on Etsy.
For a nice final touch, we recommend decorating your party with an abundance of roses or at least handing them out to each of your guests as a fun gesture.
