If you’ve found yourself intrigued by the concept of Deuxmoi, we have all the information about the rumor account. The Instagram account, which currently has 1.9 million followers, became popular in 2020 at the start of the pandemic for posting blind items, aka stories about a famous person where identity stays anonymous. However, some posts aren’t blind items and will name-drop celebrities. While most of its posts were simply rumors, others turned out to be true. For example, Deuxmoi recently posted about Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny being seen kissing in a club, which subsequently caused their respective fans on social media to lose their minds. Now it seems the pair are in a situationship if not a relationship since they have been seen together in public on multiple occasions recently.

Deuxmoi primarily runs on Instagram with the blinds posted to the stories feature daily. Other segments are specific to a day, such as Sunday Spotted in which photos of celebrities seen out and about are posted to its stories. Additionally, its Twitter account mainly retweets fans and quotes their tweets with a response to whatever it is users are saying regarding an Instagram post, something they’ve heard or a topic they want to know more about. Lastly, Deumoix uses its TikTok to post snippets from its podcast “Deux U,” where the founder and an expert guest go over the latest popular and controversial posts from the account weekly.

On the other hand, its website isn’t like your regular tabloids. It is solely for gossip aficionados to subscribe to its email list or submit celeb stories under a pseudonym or request to stay anonymous. According to the website’s about page, Deuxmoi “Publishes rumors & conjecture, not facts,” while also stating that “certain characters, situations, and events portrayed on this website are either products of the authors imagination or conjecture.” So take everything they post with a grain of salt unless confirmed otherwise. If you want even more tea, they’ve even published a book in 2022 called “Anon Pls.” It is loosely based on the Deuxmoi founder’s life in the form of fiction and was co-written by New York Times best-selling author Jessica Goodman.

Right about now you may find yourself wondering “Who is deuxmoi?”  I can tell you that its owner has attempted to stay anonymous. However, there has been speculation over the years regarding the identity of the individual running its social media platforms. Deuxmoi has denied identity allegations in the past, such as in a 2021 Vanity Fair article which included an interview with the individual behind the gossip site. In the article, it’s revealed that a friend of the journalist thought she cracked the code regarding Deuxmoi’s identity. When the journalist reached back out to Deuxmoi for comment regarding the supposed identity they simply replied telling the journalist “we appreciate the heads up” and that “the person you keep naming is no longer associated with our account.” When the  journalist replied to the email asking “‘Is the person I interviewed still associated with the account?’” they never received a reply.

However, in 2022 the account’s big identity reveal came after independent blogger Brian Feldman released a Substack newsletter post where he revealed how easy it was for him to uncloak our Gossip Girl(s). He goes through their digital trail in-depth back to 2013 when Deuxmoi was a fashion blog. For the sake of time and my word count I won’t go over it all here, you’ll have to read the link above for that. However, I will tell you what his findings were. Feldman concluded that the co-founders behind Deuxmoi are Meggie Kempner, granddaughter of the late New York socialite Nan Kempner, and Melissa Lovallo. Sources say that Kempner isn’t involved with the account anymore and that Lovallo still runs it today. However, in true Deumoix fashion, they haven’t publicly unmasked themselves yet. Will they ever reveal themselves? Probably not, but it only adds to the intrigue without diminishing the purpose of the account: The gossip.
