It’s that time of year when my Instagram feed is full of beach pictures including but not limited to fresh tans, ocean views, summer reads and so many cute bikinis. The posts are always so colorful and aesthetically pleasing. I don’t care what anyone says: I’m here for all the beach content!
I love a good beach pic, but it can be hard to capture the right one or one that hasn’t already been done by someone else on your feed. If you’re headed on vacation or to your local beach this summer, then you’ll need some photo inspiration. Here are 10 easy, flattering poses for beach pictures that’ll elevate your IG game and have you looking cute in your ‘kini all summer long.

For this pose, set your phone down and have yourself looking over it. You can stand and have your whole body in the frame or kneel over the camera for a shot above the torso. This setup is easy to achieve if you’re riding solo; just set the camera down and use the timer feature to nail the cute and effortless beach pic look.
Hands in the air
Like you just don’t care! Throw your hands up to the sky for this beach picture idea. This pose looks cute whether you’re standing in the sand or taking a dip. Bonus points if there’s a sunset in the background!
The camera grab is one of our favorites! For a candid beach picture, extend one of your arms towards whoever is taking your picture, like you’re trying to grab the camera straight from their hands. Don’t forget to smile and laugh to get the perfect shot.
Oh, hey, didn’t see ya there. The looking-back pose is perfect for casual beach pics. For this, you can sit on the sand with your body facing the water and your head turned back towards the camera as if you didn’t know your picture was being taken. Alternatively, you can position your body toward the camera and look back at the gorgeous view of wherever you are.
How casually cute is this pose for a beach pic? Pose with your arms and head resting on your knees as if you’ve had a long day of vacationing. This pose is simple, easy to do and looks especially beachy if you’re on the sand or a comfy-looking blanket.
I’ll bet that most of your time on the beach is probably spent laying down. Why not make an IG-worthy candid out of it? Have your photographer shoot from behind you, catching you in a casual, lounging state. To spice up this pose, include yourself reading your favorite beach read.
Taking a stroll
Long walks on the beach, anyone? A cute idea is to get your picture taken while walking on the beach. This pose is super cute to do during golden hour. To make it even more off-guard and casual, look off into the distance!
Hands on your hair
Not in the mood for a face shot? No problem! Let your hair do the talking with this pose. Face the sun or water and show the camera your beachy hair. As if you’re not expecting the photo to be taken, run your hands through your hair. With this pose, you can show off your beautiful vacation spot and your hairstyle with little effort.
What’s a beach vibe without some waves? Taking pictures in the water is the ultimate beach pose! It’s super easy to have a good time while using this pose idea. Dance and jump around in the water while your photographer does their thing so you can get a bunch of cute candid shots. This pose is perfect for friends and couples to have fun with!
We love the iconic swimsuit hold pose for this summer! This is especially perfect if you want to show off your favorite summer bikini. It’s simple, just pose for the picture with your hands on the bottom of your swimsuit, like on the strings if your suit has them. If you’re someone who doesn’t know what to do with your hands when you take pictures, then this is likely to be your new go-to.
