Two Icons, One Outfit: What To Wear To See Stevie Nicks and Billy Joel

This past Saturday, I got the chance to see both Stevie Nicks and Billy Joel play one of the best shows ever. It felt like I’d been anticipating the concert for ages, but when the weekend finally rolled around, I realized I didn’t have a clue what to wear! I was so overwhelmed by the amount of options and aesthetics to choose from that I couldn’t decide on an outfit. If you (like me) have been waiting for the longest time to see this co-headliner show and are struggling with what to wear, here are some Billy Joel & Stevie Nicks concert outfit ideas that are sure to make you stand back in awe.
Leather and Lace
Do I need to say more? If you’re going for Stevie specifically, this is the perfect route to take. Not only is it the name of one of her biggest hits, but these two fabrics make up the majority of her wardrobe. Throw some see-through lace over a bralette and you have the top half of your look! I also absolutely love lace skirts, regardless of the length. Lace dresses are gorgeous as well, although if you were trying to thrift your concert outfit, they might be a bit harder to come by. While you might be hot wearing a leather jacket at a concert, adding one to your outfit is sure to solidify the retro look you’re going for. After all, these concerts will be going on in the winter too!

Blue Denim
The song title is providing all the inspiration here! Not only is denim perfect for Stevie Nicks, but it matches the Billy Joel aesthetic as well. Wear your favorite pair of flowy/flare jeans, and if you want, try pairing them with a jean jacket. If that’s too much denim for you, understandable! You can also pair your jeans with one of the top ideas from the last paragraph. If you happen to own a long, denim skirt, this is the occasion to break it out! It combines the vintage, denim aesthetic with the flowy vibe we’re looking for here. If you’re more of a Billy Joel kind of person, try pairing those jeans with a simple black t-shirt (or merch shirt) and jacket. A denim vest (or any 70s-style vest) would work here too. You could also go with a button up denim shirt over a tank top for a more “Uptown Girl” kind of vibe.

Flowy Florals
Maybe it’s not necessarily denim, but if you’re a Stevie Nicks fan, chances are you own a skirt of some kind. Any skirt would make your outfit great, but if you’re really looking to channel that 70s-inspired Fleetwood Mac energy, find a long one with bright colors or floral patterns. If you’re looking for a top that embodies this energy instead, I wore this v-neck top and it was perfect! It’s available in so many different colors and patterns. In addition to the v-necks and retro florals, any top that has a tie element involved will perfectly match the aesthetic.

This just might be the most important category on our list! Accessories can make or break an outfit, and when it comes to Stevie Nicks, accessories are key. Mix and match necklaces that you have or try layering different chain lengths. Bonus points if they have some sort of witchy element to them.
