One of the best parts about the month of October is that you get to celebrate Halloween all month long! I can hardly think of a better way to get into the spirit of the season than by watching all the best movies the Halloween genre has to offer. We obviously love writing about Halloween here at the Zillennial, so we figured we would combine this article with something else we love writing about: zodiac signs! This article aims to answer the question “what Halloween movie am I based on my zodiac sign?” Keep reading to hear our take.
Aries – Scream
This movie comes out swinging, much like the first sign of the zodiac! Aries can sometimes have a similar feel as this film, sometimes having a reputation for being fiery and impulsive. Although Scream is one of the more intense films on our list, it’s incredibly loved by audiences everywhere and keeps us coming back every year!
Taurus – The Nightmare Before Christmas
Steadfast and dedicated, Taurus can often be seen as the rock of any friend group that they’re a part of. The Nightmare Before Christmas finds itself in a similar position, arguably being the baseline Halloween movie. Taurus is also incredibly determined, much like the main character of this movie.
Gemini – Coraline
Did we make this matchup because of the doubling elements that this movie contains? Maybe. Gemini has a youthful, curious energy about them, much like the titular main character of the film. Despite this, however, they can also possess a bit of a deceptive side and channel an intensity that might just rival the Other Mother herself.
Cancer – It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Watching this movie every fall feels like getting a warm hug – an energy only Cancers can properly emulate. While they can occasionally let their emotions get the best of them, they are incredibly caring, devoted people who will stand for what they believe in, which reminds us of Linus and the Great Pumpkin!
Leo – Hocus Pocus
A movie as over-the-top as this one just had to be paired with Leo! Leos are the perfect sign to represent all three Sanderson sisters, as they possess Winnifred’s star quality, Mary’s humor and Sarah’s enthusiasm. They’re also the friend that somehow would be responsible for lighting the black-flame candle.
Virgo – Halloweentown
A Halloween classic for the most dependable of the zodiac signs. Virgos are known for their logical and organized approach, which perfectly aligns with Marnie Piper’s type-A personality. Throughout the movies, Marnie carries a systematic approach and continuously saves Halloweentown using her perfectionism and reliability, constantly channeling that Virgo energy.
Libra – Haunted Mansion
We’ll be focusing on the 2003 film for this article, mostly because it’s a perfect blend of comed, romance and family fun. Libras are well known for their romantic side, but what a lot of people fail to acknowledge is how funny these signs can be. No one loves a good laugh more than Libra!
Scorpio – The Rocky Horror Picture Show
We had a tough time determining what movie to pair with the zodiac that Halloween falls in, but we think we got it right. We firmly believe that only Scorpios can embody the mystery, humor, theatrics and dark elements that are present in this cult classic. It might not be the spookiest option on this list, but it just might be the most iconic.
Sagittarius – Ghostbusters
If there’s one Halloween character that gives us Sagittarius energy, it’s Dr. Peter Venkman. Known for their wit, self assured persona and tendency to mouth off, Sagittarius brings life to any party or gathering. They’re free spirits, much like the ghosts that get set on New York near the end of this movie.
Capricorn – The Addams Family
This one might be an unusual pairing, but we think we can make it work. Capricorns are viewed as down to earth, realistic and materialistic individuals, but that doesn’t mean they’re incapable of embracing their weird side once in a while! The Addams Family has a cynical sense of humor that makes us think of Capricorn.
Aquarius – Beetlejuice
The only sign that might rival Scorpio in terms of eccentricism, Aquarius had to get Beetlejuice! Between Lydia’s brooding, Adam and Barbara’s innocence, Delia’s exuberance and Beetlejuice’s lewd jokes, this movie has everything Aquarius would find entertaining.
Pisces – The Corpse Bride
Pisces is the daydreamer of the zodiac and might find themselves relating to Emily when watching this film. The Corpse Bride is arguably some of Tim Burton’s best work and has all the classic elements: high saturation, spooky music and a plethora of emotionally evocative scenes.
