We’ve all heard of the Hydroflasks, Stanleys and Owalas — especially the Stanley and Owala. They’re the most recently trending water bottle. They’re well insulated and pretty and fun to drink out of. The multitude of colors they come in is what really attracts the younger — and sometimes older — female consumers. However, amidst all the hype, there is one underrated brand that I have not seen anyone talk about. Hydrojug.
Hydrojug is a smaller brand compared to the cult following that Stanley has, and it is only a few years older than Owala. I feel like the Hydrojug deserves as much hype as the currently trending water bottles. Though, I definitely don’t need people fighting and mass buying all of them like what’s going on with the Stanleys right now.
I’ve seen girls — and some guys — at the gym and in my classes carry around their Owalas, Stanleys and Stanley dupes like it’s an accessory. And I totally see the vision of that. My Hydrojug can sometimes be my accessory too, especially on hot girl walks. But sometimes carrying things can feel tedious. I want the feeling of having my water bottle with me without actually carrying it. This is where Hydrojug’s sleeves come in. The sleeves serve as a holder for your water bottle and it comes with detachable shoulder straps. You can either wear them like a cross-body or shoulder bag. The sleeves also come in so many different colors and patterns that you can match them with your outfit if you want to. In my opinion, this little accessory makes life so much easier. It’s truly something you didn’t even know you wanted or needed until you have it.
The Hydrojug also comes in various shapes and sizes. The bottle sizes range from 24 oz to 128 oz. The one that I have is the 24oz Hydroshkr. The shaker bottle is similar to the Owala Free Sip water bottle. You can drink out of it with or without a draw. Hydrojug’s shaker bottle is more up my alley though because the shaker bottle comes with two lid options — one with a straw and one without. This is the perfect water bottle for me, as someone who strongly dislikes straws — they’re very hard to clean and I’m very paranoid about mold growing inside it. You can easily switch one lid out for the other whenever you want to. It’s almost like getting two water bottles for the price of one. This water bottle truly has become my emotional support water bottle. The quality of the bottle for the price point it’s at is very much worth it in my opinion. The shaker is also made with stainless steel and very well insulated. Now, I can’t say for sure that if your car catches on fire the Hydrojug will still keep your ice cubes icey, but how often does that really happen? What I can say is that I always fill my cup up with ice in the morning and it stays as ice for the whole day. Sometimes, it’ll still be in little ice cube forms the next morning.
If the shaker bottle isn’t your cup of tea, Hydrojug’s traveler bottle may be perfect for you. This is one of their newest releases and it comes in many pretty colors. This bottle is “Stanley-shaped” and it is also very well insulated. The one main feature about the traveler that I think has the Stanley cup and its various dupes beat is that the traveler comes with a flip straw. This makes the cup 100% spill-proof. And as someone who hates using straws, I was really compelled to buy this cup. For a hot second there I was telling myself, “just wash the straw every night and you’ll be fine.” You can throw this cup into your backpack and have zero worries about spillage. It’s very convenient to take everywhere with you and I think that makes the Hydrojug worth it.
