Cows? What’s with them?

You keep on seeing them all over social media. And I am not talking about those big dairy cows that you are familiar with on TV and in cartoons. No, I am talking about small quaintly… or rather dog-sized cows. Yep, I’ve seen a lot of videos with people owning a cow, or what people are now dubbing a house cow.
As the years pass people are adopting even more diverse sets of animals. Sure, don’t get me wrong you sometimes see people owning birds and you think that’s different, but now on social media, you’ll see everything. I’ve seen people own Cheetahs, train owls, and even one guy a komodo dragon!
However, the House Cow in comparison seems quite tame. And from what I understand in regards to the house cow it seems like something that people like due to the preference of it. People also like the grazing aspect to it, and if you get these cows small they can even fit through a doggy door if it’s small enough to need the house warmth. However, these cows sometimes do get big and will need a fence to wall them in.

However, let’s get into the question? Why are people obsessed with owning cows so recently? Social media has been showing people it all over screens. People have received them as birthday presents, so, this may just be a big social media trend.
But cows are cool and from what I read in comments from owners, they stated just how comfortable and attractive the cows are. These people end up developing relationships with the animals, and they also like to test farm animals. Some people view having a house cow as training for dealing with bigger and larger animals.

You also usually see within these videos people living in larger houses. I also read a comment before stating that the cow was able to graze freely, meaning that they also had a lot of land. While you may see a lot of videos on social media in regards to House Cow, I highly doubt it’s going to be an everyday thing seeing one. Especially depending on where you are reading this from.

I think House Cows are like House Pigs. A trend, but now let’s discuss the cons of a house cow. From what I’ve seen from influencers they stated before that housing the cow and the food of it does get costly at times. Likewise, you will need a car big enough to store it or take it places just in case it needs a vet.

Cows take up a lot of space, and when people get house cows…you usually get them when they’re small. However, the cow gets bigger and space would need to be accommodated in this regard. Likewise, dealing with gross enough as is…the turds of the cow would be a lot to deal with. An influencer that I read about stated before that her husband would have to do that side of things.

Taking care of a barn animal is taking care of a barn animal. I even went on YouTube to look up videos of these influencers taking care of their cows while other people take care of normal cows and while the smaller cows were easy to maintain the larger house cows seemed to be more difficult and time-consuming. However, this could be taken as an Instagram influencer not being used to dealing with a barn animal.

However, I feel that I have answered why everyone is so damn obsessed with cows… because while house cows seem to be a beast to maintain, they are just so damn adorable!
