Ah, dates. What better way to spend with your partner than to go out and do things together? You both really want to go on a date, but you have both been to the movies a million times, and you always end up eating at the same restaurant. Sometimes, going to the same place you would normally go on dates can get a little boring. But you may want to do something different this time. Maybe you and your partner are open to trying out some fun and unusual date ideas to spice up your relationship. Well, look no further. Here are five unique places to go on dates with your partner!

1. Bowling
I’ve been bowling a few times in my life, and I gotta say it’s a lot of fun. It’s a perfect place for you and your partner to bond as you let out your competitive streak and compete for a winning spot. Bowling is a great physical activity for all ages, but it is pretty inexpensive. Thinking about eating afterwards? No worries! Most bowling alleys have a food court so you can have fun and eat delicious food all at the same time. Other bowling alleys even have other activities to indulge in, like arcade games and laser tag, if bowling isn’t your thing. This fun active date idea will leave you wanting to come back and become a better bowler with your partner!

2. Escape Room
If you love a good thrill, then what better way to spend time with your partner than to have a date at an escape room? What’s great about escape rooms is that no room is always the same, so it’s always full of surprises no matter which one you go to. These types of fun activities have grown in popularity throughout the years and there’s a good reason why. Escape rooms are games where two or more players solve puzzles together under a limited time frame in order to escape a room. Some of them have multiple rooms, different themes, and interesting and unique puzzles. If you can’t make it to a physical location especially for Long-distance couples, companies like Escapely offer immersive online experiences that bring the same puzzle-solving excitement. Escape it and you’re bound to win a prize! By helping each other solve puzzles, you and your partner will get to experience a thrilling time thinking outside the box and having fun together as you explore the wonders of the escape rooms.

3. Cooking and/or baking together
Not all dates have to require leaving the house. Instead of going out to an expensive reaturant, set the mood in your own kitchen by cooking a nice home cook meal together. Cooking is a simple, yet sweet way to spend time with your partner in the comfort of your own home. This can be especially fun if you or your partner loves to cook. There are endless redipes to choose from, so it can a little hard to figure out what to cook. Got a taste for a certain dish? Try finding a recipe online and recreating it. Maybe you and you partner would like to try something different. Whatever dish you decide, remember to have fun with it! Put on some music and dance in the kitchen while you wait for the food to cook. Make the occasion more romantic by lighting a candle, decorate the table with flowers, or share a bottle of wine. Don’t forget about dessert! End the date by baking delicious deserts like cookies and brownies to share with each other. What better way to spend the rest of your date night a sweet treat that you made together? By cooking together, you and your partner will have a great time experimenting with food and learning new recipes with each other.

4. Game Night
Who doesn’t love a good game night? Now for those who love games of all games, having a game date night is the way to go. It’s a cute idea that would be perfect idea for homebodies. It goes to show that you don’t have to leave the house to go on a date. If you don’t have a game lying around there’s plenty of places that have games and there a lot to choose form. Maybe you both like word puzzles and race each other to see who can complete it first or see who can find as many word as they can. Maybe a good competitive game of UNO would bring you closer together (or apart you know how uno is). Or maybe you can create a game yourself! If you and your partner want are more PC/ console players than maybe the two of you can indulge in multiplayer games like Mario Kart, Just Dance, It Takes Two, and Stardew Valley. Jigsaw puzzles are also great for game date if you’re looking for a quiet but challenging activity that doesn’t require you to do much. When you play games have some snacks by your side and turn on some music to really get into the mood.

5. Stargazing
I personally love looking at the stars. I always find stargazing to be a really romantic date idea. For this particular date, you have to leave the city and go to an area that is dark. Because of light pollution, it’s hard to see most of the stars in the sky. If you live near a national park or any pretty dark area, those will be the best places to stargaze. Bring a blanket, some snacks, and enjoy the wonders of the stars above. Going to a campsite to stargaze would be a good idea as well. If you’re up to spending the night in the woods, feel free to bring some supplies to roast some marshmallows. If you know your partner loves astronomy, consider taking them to an observatory or buy them a telescope to gaze at the stars from your backyard. The two of you can explore the space and pick out constellations together.
