Traveling and discovering new places, cultures, and vibes is something I love and will never get tired of. The feeling of getting off of a plane and going outside in a completely new city is one of my favorite things. I was able to experience this for my Spring Break going to Miami Beach, and the thought of leaving made me pretty sad and hard to accept. The girls trip made it out of the groupchat and it was a trip to remember. Miami is one of those cities that has it all so whether you are someone who likes to chill on the beach, try new foods, party, or sightsee, you will be covered in this city. If you’re planning a trip to this literal paradise, I have got you covered with a Miami vacation itinerary that will be packed with exciting activities for anyone that likes to have a great and memorable trip. I was only there for five days and it felt like a week with everything we did, so keep reading to get good inspiration if you’re planning a trip to the sunshine state anytime soon.
Iconic Beaches
I am from Arizona, the desert, hot, and dry state, so, pretty much I have not seen many beaches in my life, so of course hitting the beach was one of my priorities. One of my favorite things about Miami is that it is a mix of city and ocean, and with the view of the skyline, you can’t beat it. Of course, no Miami vacation itinerary would be complete without hitting the world-famous beaches. South Beach is probably the most iconic, but there are plenty of other options for those looking to explore more of the coastline. I stayed in South Beach so it was our go-to and I highly recommend. From Ocean Drive to Española Way, it is gorgeous to walk around and relax in the sand. Another great thing about this area is all of the restaurants and bars they have right by the beach, so once you work up an appetite from the ocean, you can walk right over. Pro Tip! Find Happy Hour deals because it is very pricey otherwise (but that is practically everything in Miami). They even have cabanas, umbrellas, and lounge chairs you can rent for a relaxing day. It is popping on South Beach and especially during Spring Break and March in general. If you want a very chill beach vibe then try visiting the less crowded North Beach or the serene Crandon Park Beach in Key Biscayne. Whether you’re looking to sunbathe, surf, or take a leisurely walk along the shore, Miami’s beaches offer a laid-back or fun escape with stunning views that will be perfect for all your photos.
Explore Art & Fashion
If you’ve seen Miami on a postcard, you’ve probably spotted the pastel-colored Art Deco buildings. South Beach is home to the largest collection of Art Deco architecture in the world, and exploring this district is an absolute must! This was one of my favorite places to walk around and take very Instagram-worthy photos. Take a walking tour to learn about the history of these cool buildings, or honestly just walk around and take it in! It is a Miami staple and for a good reason because it’s unique and very cool. Another thing I did with my friends was go to the Design District, which is a massive outdoor luxury shopping mall with all the designer brands you could think of. I love things fashion-related, so this was very cool, and even though I didn’t shop and buy things, it was great to walk around and enjoy the vibes. Miami is the city of sexy fashion and this place was exactly what I pictured. It was very chic and old money vibes, which I loved, and people were dressed up and enjoying the luxury brands too. There are also cute cafes and restaurants as well as a free art museum which is fun to see. This was one of my favorite places I went and I would for sure go back there!
Food & Culture
A Miami vacation itinerary wouldn’t be complete without immersing yourself in the city’s rich Cuban culture. Little Havana is the heart of Miami’s Cuban community, and it is known for its food, music, and vibrant colors. Walk along Calle Ocho (8th Street) and visit local cafes, cigar shops, and galleries. And also be sure to stop by Ball & Chain, a historic bar and live music venue that has become a staple in the area. Little Havana is a little further from South Beach but it is worth the trip there! It is so cute and fun to hang out around, and the food is probably the best and most authentic food you can get in the states, and who doesn’t love good music? There are an insane amount of options for food in Miami, so do your research before, and categorize a list by cuisines, and it makes narrowing it down much easier. My go-to is TikTok for food recommendations because it is a lot of locals sharing insider tips, which is very helpful!
Boat Time!
Miami is known for its amazing waterfront views, and there’s no better way to take it all in than on a boat tour around Biscayne Bay. You can do a classic sightseeing tour or rent a private boat to explore the area at your own pace. There are so many yacht rental options and with a good size group it doesn’t have to be that expensive! and my friends, I did a guided tour and it was so fun a captain was giving us info about all we saw and we saw mansion row and some of the most beatutiufl homes ever! The views of Star Island, Fisher Island, and the Miami skyline are unforgettable. Keep an eye out for celebrity mansions along the way!
Miami does have something for everyone so whether you’re looking for relaxing days on the beach, cultural experiences, or a great nightlife, you can create a Miami vacation itinerary that’s packed with fun stuff that will make for a great trip. From the beauty of South Beach to the vibrant energy of Little Havana, so start planning your trip to Miami now!
