A: I grew up in the bay area in California and began singing very young. I went to college in New Orleans. My lung collapsed several times after my songwriting debut “Let’s Get Lost”. Unable to sing, I returned to my childhood home and began writing more and more music. I have been fortunate to collaborate with some amazing talents including G-Eazy, Blackbear, Skizzy Mars, Christoph Andersson and Jono Dorr among others.

Q: What makes you love what you do? How long have you been making music? Would you call it your passion?

A: I have been singing since I was very young and first started to write as a young adult. Performing and touching and connecting with fans makes me so happy. I create music to heal myself and when I hear my fans say that my music helps them in really dark times, it makes it all worth it.

Q: What are some accomplishments or milestones you’ve reached lately?

A: My recent headline tour was amazing. Sharing with friends and fans and an incredible audience was very special.

A: ‘Forgot to Miss You’ is about that space in between being completely over your ex and missing them or thinking about them all the time. It’s about the process of healing and that weird phenomenon where a wound never really feels better per se, you just suddenly forget the pain ever existed.

Q: Do you have any advice for someone who is starting out in the music industry?

A: Yes start writing immediately and write all the time.  Also learn how to produce.

Q: What do you want our readers to know about you and your music?

A: I need to make art as an emotional outlet to heal myself and in turn, I hope my music helps others. When I hear my fans tell me how much my music has helped them through hard times, it means everything to me.

Q: Anything else you would like to add?

A: Thank you for taking the time to chat with me. I have more music coming and for updates, everyone can follow me on my Instagram @devonbaldwin
