If you’ve ever heard the term “house dress,” you might have also heard the uprising term “nap dress.” Basically, these dresses are so comfy that you can wear them around the house, or even nap in them. The term “house dress” has been around for decades and potentially even centuries, dating back to the Victorian era, “nap dress” is a newer term trademarked by Hill House. Personally, I’m obsessed with this style of dress because of its versatility, effortless look and chicness. Let’s take a look at some of my favorites, and some awesome dupes I’ve found online.
Hill House Nap Dresses
If you’ve ever taken a look at the Hill House website, you’ll see they have a full Nap Dress shop. This style of dress has a square neckline, ruffle sleeves, a ruched bodice and a tiered skirt. They have two lengths of dress: the midi and mini. They also come in so many different colors and patterns! I’m personally obsessed with the many floral designs offered. This dress is practically the blueprint for my spring and summer style.
Dupes
While I’m so obsessed with Hill House and their Nap Dresses, they are really out of my price range. I’m going to be saving up so I can buy one (or a few), but until then, I’ve been scouring the internet for some dupes. Here are some amazing ones I’ve found.
Old Navy
The best dupes I have ever been able to find are from Old Navy! Their patterns aren’t as dainty, but they have so many different dresses that are super similar in style and shape.
Flutter-Sleeve Printed Tiered Smocked Midi Swing Dress

Besides the buttons, this dress has pretty much the same shapes as the classic Nap Dress. It has flutter sleeves, the square neckline and the tiered midi skirt. They also have it in this beautiful rose pattern!
Flutter-Sleeve Fit & Flare Gingham Mini Dress

Much like the other option above, this has the exact fit and shape as the classic nap dresses but is a mini version!
Waist-Defined Puff-Sleeve Smocked Mini Dress

While this one has really different sleeves (puff sleeves), it has the same old gorgeous square neckline and tiered skirt.
Amazon
The best dupes I’ve ever seen are on Amazon, so I’ve collected all of my favorites for you!
Miessial Linen Long Dress

The square neckline, the huge ruffle sleeves and an amazing midi length. That exact style comes in a few different colors but the listing also has a few other similar styles that match the nap dress look.
Solid Bow Patchwork Ruffle Mini Dress

This is one of the best dupes I’ve seen online, but there are no reviews or any information, so tread lightly here!
Bohemian Floral Tiered Maxi Dress

Ok, this doesn’t have ruffle sleeves or a square neckline, but it does have super dainty and beautiful patterns and a long-tiered bottom. I’m actually obsessed with these and will be ordering at least three.
Summer Boho A-Line Long Maxi Dress

This is another perfect dupe and it comes in so many different prints and colors. While this one looks just as comfortable as the other options on the list, I think some of the patterns and styles look a little fancier than the classic nap dress.
Maxi Midi Cami Babydoll Dress

This one lacks the flutter sleeves we all love and instead has spaghetti straps, but it makes up for it with an absolutely gorgeous bow back. Once again, this one is a little more dressy than the others on this list.
Summer Cotton Casual Off-Shoulder Boho Midi Dress

Finally, I thought I would throw in an option with some long sleeves since spring is taking a while to get to us. It’s still pretty cold outside, so a billow sleeve option is needed!
