It’s springtime, which means a lot of new fruits will be in season! Apricots, cherries, mangos, and my personal favorite, strawberries! There are so many ways to incorporate strawberries into different desserts that I decided I wanted to find some easy strawberry dessert recipes to make at home. A lot of these recipes require very few ingredients and little prep time; some don’t even require an oven! Here’s a list of five great easy strawberry desserts to try.
Strawberry Crisp
To start our list off, here’s a simple Strawberry Crisp recipe, straight from Belle of the Kitchen. This dish is a mix of sugary sweet strawberries and heart-healthy oats, a perfect dessert that doesn’t require any complex skills or difficult baking instructions. Most of the ingredients can already be found in your kitchen, and only require some mixing and baking. If you want to sweeten this dish even more, try it with vanilla ice cream!
Fresh Strawberry Mousse
If you’re a lover of mousse desserts, try this Fresh Strawberry Mousse recipe, from An Italian In My Kitchen. I’m not a big fan of chocolate mousse (not enough chocolate in it for me), but this Strawberry Mousse seems like a perfect treat to enjoy on a warm spring day. It only requires 3 ingredients (strawberries, sugar, and whipped cream) and doesn’t require any baking. Perfect to make when you’re craving something sweet!
Strawberry Bark
For those of you who love chocolate-covered strawberries but want to change things up a bit, I recommend trying Strawberry Bark. Some recipes use dried strawberries on top of chocolate, but this recipe from iFoodReal.com adds another twist on the classic treat, adding Greek yogurt on top of fresh strawberries. It’s a bit healthier and adds a sweet-and-sour kick to the dessert. I recommend trying it with different chocolates (milk, dark, and white) to find the best combination.
Easy Strawberry Frozen Dessert
For those of you who are looking for a challenge, try this Easy Frozen Strawberry Dessert from Sweet Spicy Kitchen, perfect for those warmer spring days. Though not too difficult to make, it does require more ingredients and more prep time than some of the other entries on this list. You can even swap out the strawberries for other fruits, like blueberries or raspberries, or combine them all into one Fruit Frozen Dessert!
Strawberry Shortcake
This Strawberry Shortcake recipe is a classic; so classic in fact, that even I can remember how to make it without a recipe! This is a great dessert to make that doesn’t require an oven or mixing bowls, so it’s great to make if you have limited access to a kitchen! I will also list some recipes for the cake and cream if you’re the kind of baker who likes to make everything from scratch.
For the cake, any store-bought cake will work; pound cake, yellow-cake cupcakes, there are even mini cake cups that can be used. For those of you who enjoy making your own from scratch here is a recipe for pound cake.
For the cream, choose your favorite whipped cream brand to add to the dish. Here’s a recipe for whipped cream.
All you have to do is take a layer of cake, add some whipped cream, then add some fresh-cut strawberries on top. And there you have it! The easy recipe on our list!
