Let’s face it, Ugg boots face a bad reputation. People say that they’re unflattering, bulky, and just plain ugly. I used to think this way until I realized how comfortable they are. Additionally, as the years have gone by, Ugg has tried to add many different styles and accessories to their roster, making their shoes perfect for fall and winter. If you’re wondering how to style Uggs, don’t worry. I got you.
Goldenstar Clog
I have a pair of these and let me tell you, these are probably some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. Period. Similar to their foamy cousins, you can keep the ankle strap up, or move it to the back of your foot for ‘sports mode’. I really like these clogs because if I am feeling lazy I can wear them with sweatpants. These are best worn with roomier cuts of jeans like boyfriend jeans and dad jeans (yes, dad jeans are better than mom jeans. There, I said it). You can keep it simple with a jumper or make it a bit cuter with a stylish wool coat.
Tasman Weather Hybrid
I have seen these all over the streets of SOHO and on my explore page. If you pay attention to any Ugg boots on this list, pay attention to these. The Tasman Weather Hybrid boots are billed as unisex, making them an ideal pair of boots for anyone. These boots have an upper section made out of the classic Ugg sheepskin, with an exaggerated, boldly colored and styled rubber sole. This makes them perfect for rainy fall days. I see many people pairing the blue soled boots with earth tones and camouflage prints. The muted green and beige tones really allow the blue soles to pop.
Venture Daze Ultra Mini
This is a pair that is on my wishlist. I appreciate that Ugg is keeping the style of the Classic Boot here, just adding a more tactical sole and varied fabrics to the body of the shoe. They also just look so comfortable, I am dying to try them on. I can also see these dressed down, as the Ugg website shows the model wearing these shoes with sweatpants and a fleece. However, I do see the cozy (fur on the outside) version of these being used in business casual looks, which I love. In my opinion, the Venture Daze boots look best with pleated slacks or sweats, or wide leg pants. It allows breathing room around the ankle while allowing the majority of the shoe to shine.
Classic Mini Dipper Puffer
This is another pair that is high on my wishlist. As a New Yorker. I’m obsessed with any and everything puffer. These are a new style for this fall, so not many have worn them yet. However, I think these would look super cute with long (or short, if it’s not too cold or you’re like me and brave the elements) skirts and dresses. I could totally see girls in New York pairing the black boots with skinny jeans and an oversized black puffer jacket. Or, maybe this is just me planning my hypothetical outfit. If you have a pair of Uggs that you would like to puffer-ize, there is also a super cute matching pair of leg warmers that you can add to any boots that you have!
New Heights
The New Heights boots are another hot fall shoe that I have been seeing on social media. I see many people rocking them in all lengths, which I don’t see as often with some of the other boots Ugg offers. Usually, you will see one cut go in style. Right now, it’s the Mini and Ultra Minis, which cut off right at or below the ankle. However, I am a fan of the Classic length. I see many people using these with pleated skirts, which I adore. I also believe that the New Heights Mini would go perfectly with leg warmers. If you want to go for a more dressed up, ‘preppy’ look, these are the go-to boots.
Pumped Slide
As I said at the beginning of this article, people don’t like Uggs because of the ‘bloated’ look. And I can see why they say that. However, with the Pumped Slides, it’s as if Ugg heard this criticism and fully leaned into it. These slides exaggerate that puffed look and I think it works! It’s reminiscent of the infamous MSCHF Big Red Boot, which also has an exaggerated puffed up look. I like the Pumped Slide in the color blue the most, which to me screams that it’s a statement shoe. When wearing them, you have to let them be the focal point of the outfit. I would love these shoes with a monochrome outfit, such as gray or black, with boyfriend, dad, or mom jeans. You need a relaxed fit in order to give the shoes breathing room.
Tasman X
I have been having my eye on the Tasman X shoes for a while, and I don’t know why I haven’t bought them. For $80, they are certainly one of the less costly options in the Ugg catalog. I love them because they are so versatile! You can dress them down with sweats, or look a bit more tactical and pair them with cargo pants. I also think these are super cute with pleated pants. You can also pair these with baggy jeans or mini skirts. Trust me when I say that you can wear the Tasman X with anything. These are also a favorite among nurses, so you know that these are super comfortable. Another pro is that these boots are weatherproof.
Chillapeak
I love the look of the Chillapeak boots. They have a puffer look, but they are completely made of sheepskin. The fur accent is also so cute. This is another highly versatile boot. I see people dressing these with more streetwear, such as cargo pants and oversized clothing. Another cute look is the classic preppy style with the Chillapeak Uggs, such as a pleated skirt, knitted vest, or a blouse. With this boot, the hardest thing will be finding out what you can’t wear with it.
