Q: Tell us your story! Where did you begin and how did you reach the caliber you’re currently at?
A: I’ll try to make it a long story short 🙂 I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. I always loved music and the songwriting craft behind it. Country music was always my favorite to listen to. I fell in love with it so quickly that I started writing songs at the age of 11. Played at coffee shops around town with my sister, till one day where my perspective was all changed from my dream of becoming an artist, to a career. I had an amazing experience of performing on stage with country music legend Keith Urban at the age of 17. I lived a day on tour with a big country music star and performed with him in front of 20,000 people, that day changed my life. I moved to Nashville right out of high school in 2015, and have been working my way up toward that feeling I had that day ever since. After taking a job as a female country singer in a band on a cruise ship at the beginning of 2020, this is when my personal life and relationship at the time were helping me experience more life situations. It was really tough, so I did what I did best and wrote songs about it. I started posting them on social media, thinking of ways to get people’s attention, and what do you know, one of them popped off. With now over 2 million streams “Breakup Szn” has changed my life as an artist songwriter in such a huge way. I’m so thankful, and I hope y’all can relate to my new stuff I have coming out in the future 💓
Q: What makes you love what you do? How long have you been making music? Would you call it your passion?
A: My parents are the reason I love what I do. They are so supportive in doing what I love as a career, without that support I don’t think I would be the loving kind-hearted girl they raised 🙂
I started writing songs as an early teenager but didn’t record anything I’ve written till I was ready, I met producer/writer Austin Shawn when he moved to town in 2018. He is one of the huge reasons why I am the artist I am, he helped me create my very debut first song and so many after, and I am still so thankful for him. Making music, stories, performances, and shows… is definitely my passion.
Q: What are some accomplishments or milestones you’ve reached lately?
A: Gosh, Breakup Szn accomplished so much I still cannot believe it! First, it went viral, I hit my first 1 million streams. People Magazine wrote about it, but the biggest thing that is my favorite thing in the world is when I have shows now… so many people are singing along with me to songs I’ve written. Like that is absolutely insanely incredible, and I can’t wait to reach more 🙂
Q: Tell us about “Old School Love”!!
A: I wrote it with Alex Angelo, Sela Bruce, and Mo Brown. After writing and releasing “Breakup Szn” I was still really learning how to be single and date. Flirting with boys was/is so weird to me, I quickly realized online dating and downloading those dating apps were not going to be it for me. My last relationship taught me your person or the person you’re meant to be with should be so easy and your love language might be different but similar. I started thinking about what I long for in a relationship, and that is finding old-school love in this generation. Working with Alex has been a blast, I have been finding more sounds and more tiny things in the production I like more and more with the pop feel, but also keeping it country with the writing style and the instruments we used in it. I couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out 💓
Q: Do you have any advice for someone who is starting out in the music industry?
A: Keep working hard. You never know when your time will come of accomplishing little goals. Your no’s can be yes’s at any time. And write songs with people you get along with! You can create the best songs that way 🙂
Q: What do you want our readers to know about you and your music?
A: I do everything out of love. Everything comes from my heart. It’s the best storyteller.
