Day & Night Time Wedding Send Off Ideas That Are Unique And So You!
When it comes to planning a wedding, there are so many details that need to be perfected on the way. We’ve written about conversations to have before marriage, proposal ideas, things not to do at your wedding, wedding dress shopping and the best bridal shoes, but we haven’t yet touched on wedding sendoffs. What’s a sendoff? Well, basically it’s a celebratory goodbye to the bride and groom at the end of the night. It’s the final hurrah of the big day, and I have some day time and night time wedding send off ideas that will feel customized and unique to you and your big day! Let’s go!
Sparklers
Obviously, this is not the most unique idea ever but you can’t write a wedding send off article without it on the list. Sparkles are one of the best options because send-offs usually happen late in the night, when it is already dark. Imagine a bride and groom walking through a tunnel of their friends, all waving sparklers. Actually – don’t imagine it, look at these gorgeous photos. If you want the end of your wedding to be absolutely magical, I can’t think of a better way than sparklers. The photography alone is gorgeous and might turn out as some of your favorite shots of the night.
Floating Lanterns
Personally, I prefer when this is done on water (like your venue’s small pond) so they can be collected and disposed of safely. But sometimes, venues have ways that even floating sky lanterns can be done in a safe way. The last thing we need is for people to send lanterns (literally on fire) into the sky, causing major damage and potentially starting forest fires. So, make sure you are doing this option safely. Logistics aside (although important), floating lanterns give us major Disney Tangled vibes and are so fairytale magical. I’m absolutely obsessed with this idea.
Candles
Want a more casual and romantic version of the sparkler sendoff? Try candles. Personally, I’m obsessed with the idea that as the couple walks by, each person lights the next candle. Imagine lighting up your path into your happy future! You can use candle sticks, jar candles or another fun option. These pictures come off a little less 4th of July and more soft, glowy and beautiful!
Smoke Bombs
Smoke bombs look absolutely amazing, especially if your ceremony is ending around sunset. Using these smoke bombs can bring such a dramatic and awesome look to end off your big day. Though, fair warning that you will probably want to work with a vendor for this, because some colored smoke bombs can dye your clothes (which is obviously not what we want here).
Snow
Winter wedding? A snow send off is one of my all time favorites. Especially if you are doing a send off in the daylight, snow is a super cute photo op. Snow can be made out of flower petals or biodegradable paper, so there is no damage or clean up involved. Obviously, never use confetti or paper for something like this because it makes a total mess and is horrible for the environment (if your venue is outdoors).
Vintage Car
Know someone who has a cool vintage car or do you have a cool vintage car? One really amazing and classic send off is hoping in a vintage car with some cans on the back and driving away. This is one of the most cool and laidback sendoffs, if that is your style.
At the end of the day, a wedding send off is for the bride and groom, so do what makes you feel happy! We hope this list of day time and night time wedding send off ideas helps you out!
